Polyglot respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Polyglot and the polyglotapp.org website are operated by Polyglot (“we”, “us”), which is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us through support.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Polyglot, we may collect:

• Telegram account information: your Telegram user ID, name, username, language and Premium status.
• Onboarding answers, such as your level, goal, exam, residence status and study plan.
• Learning data: your answers, test results, progress and lesson ratings.
• Voice input in speaking exercises, sent for speech recognition and not stored by us.
• Usage and technical data, such as interactions, errors, app version, timezone and approximate country.
• Subscription status. We do not receive your payment card details.
• The code of the advertising link that brought you to us.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide lessons, the level test, speaking practice and AI feedback.
• Build your personal study plan.
• Save your progress.
• Send you reminders in our Telegram bot while you complete onboarding.
• Operate sign-in, subscriptions and access to paid features, and prefill your country at checkout.
• Answer your support requests.
• Understand which advertising campaigns bring new users.
• Maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your answers, voice input or other content to train our own AI models.

3. Voice and AI Processing

• Your answers, messages and voice input are processed only to provide the features you use, such as checking answers, recognizing speech, the tutor chat and role-play calls.
• We send them to third-party AI providers to generate these results.
• We do not store recordings of your voice.
• We do not intentionally collect, create or store biometric identifiers, such as voiceprints.
• Your content is not shared with other users.
• You retain ownership of the content you provide.

4. Data Storage and Security

Polyglot stores your data on servers operated by our service providers. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers to operate Polyglot:

• Telegram, to sign you in, run the mini app and operate our bot.
• Cloudflare, to host the app, the website, the database and logs.
• Polar, which sells subscriptions as the merchant of record and processes payments under its own privacy policy.
• Inworld, to recognize speech and run role-play calls.
• OpenRouter, to process AI requests for checking answers, hints, the tutor chat and role-play feedback.
• Amplitude, to analyze how the app is used.

These providers process data in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Cookies and Analytics

The polyglotapp.org website does not use cookies or analytics.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

If you ask support to delete your account, we may delete or de-identify your personal data, unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary for security or fraud prevention. We may retain limited technical logs, subscription records and legal compliance records for longer where reasonably necessary.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To make a request, contact support.

9. Age Restrictions and Children’s Privacy

Polyglot is intended only for users who are at least 16 years old. Users aged 16 and 17 may use Polyglot with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under 16 has provided personal data to us, contact support and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
